Aaron Arias (AKA Atto Pilot) is a music and sound engineer & artist who was born and raised in Providence, RI. Atto Pilot has a decade of experience of recording/ producing music from his aunts basement to his co-owned company at 7 Keys Studios. He’s worked for/ with a variety of artists like Jaleel's “Just a Taste” along with many tracks for Jesse Piffs and Big Frank. Some sources of inspiration for Atto Pilot are Timbaland, Kanye, Kid Cudi and more.
Aaron recalls his introduction to his passion but stating, “My first memory of feeling & wanting to create music was in 1998 listening to Missy Elliot's ‘Supa Supa Dupa’ and Aaliyahs ‘Are You That Somebody’.”
“The sounds in Timbalands productions resonated with me and woke up something inside me that hasn't rested since.”
Atto Pilot plans on continuing his business growth and success at 7KeysStudios along with his childhood friends. His vision for 7Keys Studios is to maintain an exciting and inspiring atmosphere for a range of artists to visit and create.
The way I got into sound engineering was around my transition from middle school to high school, that summer I realized my mixes were pretty awful, so I taught myself how to mix and balance sounds on Fruity Loops Studio. It was definitely tough at first, it took a lot of research on mixing techniques and most importantly patience.
For me, I always felt that I needed to understand the point of view of the artist and listener to really get a grip on solid production. Pouring my emotion and energy in writing and composing is as important as getting the right mix for whatever genre that presents itself.
I was born and raised in the west end of Providence, Rhode Island. I grew up on Cranston street and Wadsworth, in that area there was a heavy presence of culture as far as mixed Latino, African, Asian & Caribbean community. . as a youth it was a smooth upbringing it was when in my teen years where I started to understand my environment and connect the dots from the culture around me especially the music. It taught me what being at the bottom was and that I always need to keep my goals and aspirations high.
Yes, I am one of several co-owners and founders of 7 Keys Studios. One of the reasons that really motivated the team and myself to own our studio was the fact that we were exhausted working under miserable and unappreciative companies and people that viewed us as having little to no value. Some benefits for us is that we can offer a creative haven for artists, photographers, models, producers, designers, Etc. as a platform to move forward and beyond their goals. We also now have a place we can create and produce with unlimited time and resources that is up to us to generate.
Personally, I've learned how to to hold down a stable studio and invest in the team and myself without judgement and maintain a healthy, safe and creative space professionally. I've learned to overcome a timid habit by opening up more as a business man and becoming an ally to other businesses and competition.
There's so many people, even many that have past in which if somebody has a time machine I'm going to finesse that collaboration. To get down to it, Timbaland, Pharrell, Swizz Beats & Kato On The Track as far as production and music business. My honorable mentions would be 40 Shebib & Dame Dash, they have the brains for this business.
I currently have a handful of projects I have my hands in that should drop this year. I am releasing an EP that is untitled at this moment and produced and performed by myself with some hometown features. It should be released by the end of the summer of 2021. Big Frank and I are dropping a project and singles every month starting in may as well. These are produced by myself, Talen Ted and Kris Fame.
I personally create a LoFi -R&B sound with subtle Hip-Hop influence. I generally see myself produce Latin music, American Hip Hop & Trap as well as the new and old school styles of R&B.
