Brooxana Is Chasing Her Dreams

My name is Brooxana Pierre and I am a 22 year old singer/songwriter and poet. Music has been apart of my life since I was ten years old. I started singing in church but I decided to take music seriously when I was 18. I’ve had some great moments chasing my dreams but it wasn’t always something I was sure about. I kept going back and forth with deciding if I wanted to study music in college because of many outside opinions telling me that I wasn’t going to be successful being a musician.

Despite the battle with my thoughts, I took risks and was accepted into one of the most prestigious music schools in Boston, Berklee College of Music. It was a huge accomplishment for me because it felt like I proved others wrong but I also proved to myself that I could do this. I didn’t end up attending because of the cost but now I’m studying music at Rhode Island College and my chorus class gained another accomplishment of being on the official ballot for consideration of two Grammys.

My journey so far has taught me a lot about the blessings that fall into place when you invest in yourself, silence the opinions of others, and wholeheartedly believe in yourself. No one will believe in you as much as you believe in yourself.
