Dre Raw debuts single where the hook at

Tell us about your song "where the hook at?" like who's featured on it, who produced it, and where was the video shot?

Where The Hook At is Lil Ash and myself. The song was produced by Icyuzimaki and mixed by Genrus. The video was shot at Tony’s house, a friend of Ash.

Do you have an idea on what single you want to drop next and is there an EP coming out or already out?

Right now we’re not sure exactly what single we will drop next. For now, we’re definitely going to keep pushing Where The Hook At. We have a good amount of tracks in the vault to release an EP, so that discussion will be upcoming.

If you could change anything in the Rhode Island music scene what would it be and why?

If I could change anything in the scene for Rhode Island, It would be more genuine collaborations. Like Ash and myself, we met in the studio and didn’t know each other at all except for seeing consistent sessions in the studio. When it’s genuine and y’all know how to just work, the potential to create fire music is there.

Who do feel deserves some credit and recognition that helped you on your musical journey?

Personally Hip Hop is Life and Genrus had a big impact on my journey. Genrus was the first producer engineer I worked with and is still helping me build my sound. Hip Hop Is Life gave me spotlight and pushed a lot of my music from my first single to to the last single I’ve dropped. I’d like to give credit to all my friends I started making music with, my RAW brothers, and of course my fans and supporters.

What are some of the challenges you go through as an artists that you wish to overcome?

Mt biggest challenge right now is writers block. I came in the game writing, but the last couple of years I’ve just been freestyling . When I try to write I get stuck and it’s a tough space to get out of.

What else should our readers know about you?

Although I am a music artist, I am an artist in general. I just graduated from New England Tech with a bachelors in Digital Media Production. I also dye clothing and design pieces. Being a Pisces being artsy and creative is a big part of me, and from the energy I give off you can tell.

What's next for you, and how can our readers further follow your work?

Me and Ash are still cooking up, but I also have another EP coming with an artist named X-Man. My closest producer Bruno is off the scene for a minute, so I’ve been tapping in with a couple of LA producers to create another new sound wave for Dre Raw. After dropping some more music I’ll also be dropping some merch, so be on the lookout for that as well.
